How a meeting's documents come out
| When | What | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Meeting | 8 scheduled a year, about six weeks apart, mostly over two days (e.g. July 28–29) | Occasional unscheduled meetings or calls in between |
| Last day, 2:00 p.m. ET | Statement, plus the Implementation Note | Both at the same minute. The note sets the operational rates, e.g. interest on reserves and the reverse repo rate |
| Same time, 4 meetings a year (Mar, Jun, Sep, Dec) | Projections (the dot plot) | Published with the statement |
| Last day, 2:30 p.m. ET | Press conference by the Chair | After every meeting since 2019 (quarterly from 2011 to 2018). Live video only at first; the transcript is posted some days later |
| 3 weeks after the last day, 2:00 p.m. ET | Minutes | e.g. July 29 → August 19. They record the discussion, the options weighed and the reasons for each vote |
| 5 years later | Full meeting transcripts | Verbatim record |
